Additional Assignment 3

ADHD Prevalence in the U.S.Image via WikipediaChanging Educational Paradigms- Perhaps the most important thing that Sir Ken Robinson states in his video is that the current form of education was invented during a time much different from today. Today's society has evolved into something that the current system can't prepare us for. I think Sir Ken Robinson is right on target with everything he says; most notable, is his explanation for why ADHD is not an epidemic. Children appear to be more susceptible to ADHD because of the rising of stimulations present through the media, as well as other sources. Schooling just isn't maintaining children's interest. We must reform education to a different way of thinking that will be representative to the current direction that society is taking. Luckily, EDM310 is very congruent to this direction. We are learning that collaboration is not cheating as it was considered in previous times. We are learning how to access and implement that plethora of information that is available to us, and above all, we are learning how to be proactive in our initiative to adapt to a society that doesn't even exist yet. We are learning to be a part of a world that we, as the future, haven't yet created.
I think this presentation perfectly reflects the ideas presented within it. It uses the visual stimulation to captivate the interest of the audience. Rather than just lecturing his audience point-by-point. Sir Ken gives is a visual road map to the presentation. Ingenious! If I was a part of a production such as this, I would want to be the author. I would love to write the script and see the presentation come to life through the artist and narrator.
